Why Call It BrumGyalieGyalDem?
✨ Brum – Local slang for Birmingham, the multicultural city that shaped my hustle and identity.
✨ Gyalie – A remix of the Jamaican word “gyal” (girl), full of energy, attitude, and empowerment.
✨ GyalDem – From Jamaican Patois, meaning “the women.” For us, it’s more than a phrase — it’s a community.



BGGD Brand Story
The Beginning: Struggles & Self-Discovery
BrumGyalieGyalDem was born from my own journey. Growing up, I struggled to fit conventional beauty standards, and during the pandemic my self-esteem was at its lowest. At 14, I began reclaiming myself by prioritizing mind, body, and soul.

The Turning Point
At 15, I embraced self-care, and my confidence slowly grew. But by 16, I had to distance myself from people who weren’t good for my mental health.

The Birth of BGGD
At 17, the name BrumGyalieGyalDem came to me — blending my Birmingham roots with my Caribbean upbringing. I knew it was bigger than beauty: it was about self-acceptance and empowerment.

Taking Action
I launched Instagram in 2023, experimenting with products while facing financial setbacks. With my mum’s support, I kept moving forward.

Turning Dreams into Reality
By 19, with the support of The King’s Trust, I began building BGGD for real — a brand to help women embrace their unique beauty and well-being.
